The first MAKE TRIBE event was a lot of fun. I met some great people (caught up with some others) and created an adorable terrarium (which now sits by my kitchen sink). There were also great snacks and delicious cocktails to dive in to. MAKE TRIBE’s motto is Make. Sip. Chat. and the evening was exactly that. Take a look.

I loved the table settings. The orange booklet (which was a small manilla envelope bound with red striped cotton twine) and the red striped napkin (which I think is a dish towel from Ikea?) were really creative ways to use basic items. Plus, all the containers (empty and full) made for such a lovely presentation. Presentation is everything, isn’t it? Doesn’t hurt that ReadyLuck’s studio, where the event took place, is just the coolest space ever. More on that later.

Our gracious hosts. From left to right: Carling from Local Color Flowers, who showed us the steps to building our terrarium. And Lindsay and Jess, the girls behind MAKE TRIBE.

The big hit of the night was the addition of these little plastic jungle animals. I used a rhino in mine.

To see more photos of MAKE TRIBE’s first event, check out their Facebook page, here. While you’re there, go ahead an “like” them too. That will keep you up to date on the next event happening in the fall (which I think is focused on book binding??). I’m already looking forward to it!

Thanks for having me girls!
